New Pluralsight Course – Configuring and Managing Office 365 Security

I’m pleased to announce that my latest Pluralsight course, Configuring and Managing Office 365 Security, is now available to watch.

Security concerns are one of the biggest barriers to cloud adoption. Some organizations either don’t trust the cloud at all, or can’t see how they can secure themselves once they move into the cloud. There are two main reasons that those concerns exist:

• Misunderstanding of where the cloud vendor’s security responsibilities end, and where yours begin
• Trying to apply legacy IT security models to the cloud

For Microsoft’s Office 365 cloud services there is a shared responsibility for security. Microsoft is responsible for securing the Office 365 infrastructure (e.g. servers, networks, datacenters), and securing data at rest (e.g. with disk encryption) from physical and network attacks. They also provide a range of security features and tools to customers.

The customer (you) are responsible for applying those security features and tools to secure your organization. My course will take you through the security features available in Office 365 and Azure today, and demonstrate how you can use them to secure your organization against a wide range of security risks.

With more than 6 hours of video content over 9 modules, the course covers:

• Using Exchange Online Protection and Office 365 ATP to protect mailboxes, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive
• Using Windows Defender ATP to provide post-breach detection and response capabilities for your endpoints
• Securing user and administrative accounts with MFA, conditional access, Privileged Identity Management, and Azure AD Identity Protection
• Securing corporate data with DLP, Azure Information Protection, and Office Message Encryption
• Using Azure ATP to monitor on-premises Active Directory environments for suspicious behaviour and account breaches
• Investigating and responding to security events using auditing and reporting tools
