Hi Paul,
I am deeply concerned about the on-premise Exchange server decommissioning.
My environment has about 250 users with Exchange 2010. My option is Hybrid, but the business requirement is that we decommison on premise exchange.
Please advice

The hybrid configuration can be used as a migration strategy. It requires directory synchronization. If you plan to keep directory synchronization running after completing the mailbox migrations to Exchange Online, then you’ll need to keep the on-premises Exchange server.
Hi Paul,
Insightful podcast, welldone
Why keep an Exchange server for management purposes in an initial Hybrid setup , after all on-prem mailboxes have been migrated to the cloud?
There should be a way to completely decommission on-prem Exchange Servers
I also realized that If you have a moderated DL on-prem and your mailbox is in the cloud, as a moderator you get errors when you try to moderate emails sent to the DL. Please can you explain why and possibly offer a solution?
Thanks
I haven’t listened to this podcast yet, but have listened to the rest of them (apart from ep4 that won’t play in my player for some reason) and was wondering if you would talk about why you need to leave an exchange server in AD when you migrate to office365 in a hybrid environment.
As far as my clients are concerned, they are trying to decommission their old exchange servers and move to office365, have azureconnect for synching so they have the same password, and then when they are told they need to keep their old exchange server running, they are not very happy….
I am not sure why Microsoft seems to think this has to be a big secret and tell people to call support.
