Welcome to the all-new Practical 365! As you may have seen last week, the website is under new management, with Steve Goodman and myself as independent Chief Editors for Practical 365.
I’m very happy and excited to be part of the team, especially as Steve and I already worked together on some courses. But it’s not just us. Watch this space, and you can expect some very interesting content from the best industry experts available, providing insightful, relevant articles, exploring new developments, features, announcements, tips, and more.
Here’s a little bit more information about me, and my background:
I’m CEO and Principal Consultant for atwork deutschland GmbH. I’m working on Office 365 implementations with a special focus on security, messaging and identity for international customers. I’ve been working with Exchange Server and Active Directory since 1997, back in the days when Exchange 4.0 was released! Additionally, I have written several books such as the award-winning Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Best Practices (Microsoft Press) and several EdX and Microsoft Official Curriculum (MOC) courses on various topics such as MOC 20345 Administering Microsoft Exchange Server 2016.
MVP for Office Apps & Services
Microsoft awarded me for my public speaking engagements and social media articles with the Microsoft Valuable Professional (MVP) for Office Apps & Services Award since the year 2013. I’ve been a speaker at many of the big Microsoft conferences such as Microsoft TechEd and Microsoft Ignite, but you can also find me at other conferences such as Thrive Conference or the German Cloud & Datacenter Conference.
In my private time, when I’m not relaxing in in my home town in northern Bavaria, Germany (just near Nuremberg) I love to travel, that’s what most people know me for. I like driving around the European alps with my convertible, Scuba Diving or sailing (I’ve got a captain’s license) in the summer time, as well as skiing in the winter time.
So, what can you expect from me over the next few months? Watch out for some interesting blog articles on Exchange 2019, the latest and greatest on hybrid and identity areas such as pass-through authentication (PTA) as the modern way to replace Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS). I can’t wait to get started!
We’re looking for MVPs, industry experts, and tech pros to join our editorial team and submit articles on their chosen topics, and areas of expertise. If this is something you would be interested in, I will be at Ignite in Orlando next week, so come and find me during the event, or at the MVP Pre-day. I’ll be happy to talk about future P365 content and ideas. Alternatively email firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a meeting, or talk more about this opportunity.
