On the show this week, we’re covering the biggest announcements from Microsoft Ignite 2025: Copilot gets new capabilities, Microsoft introduces Agent 365 for managing AI agents, and SharePoint celebrates its 25th birthday with some interesting updates.
Agent 365: Governance for AI Agents
Microsoft announced Agent 365, now in public preview via the Microsoft Frontier program, as the control plane for managing AI agents in Microsoft 365. This at the moment is part-dashboard and the beginnings of a full governance portal, providing agent management across different M365 Copilot Agents, Copilot Studio and Microsoft Frontier.
Entra Agent ID provides the foundations for first-class identities in Microsoft Entra. Previously, some agents such as Copilot Studio agents were tied to app registrations, and whilst this remains the case (Entra Agent IDs appear to be app registrations), previously there was little in the way of governance available.

Copilot Updates
Copilot continues to evolve with several new features, most of which are rolling out in early access now, with GA expected in Q1 2026:
- Work IQ: A new intelligence layer that makes Copilot and agents context-aware by default. It combines your organizational data, memory of workflows, and inference to predict next actions. Previously, Copilot relied on connectors and prompts, along with the Semantic Index.
- Voice in Outlook Mobile: Available in early access via TestFlight and Google Play Beta. Users can ask Copilot to summarize unread emails, draft replies, and perform inbox triage hands-free. This revives the concept of Outlook Voice Access but adds AI-driven context.
- Natural-language meeting scheduling: GA for Copilot Chat now, with Targeted Release for Outlook web and Windows. Copilot can find times, book rooms, and resolve conflicts automatically—something that previously required manual steps or third-party tools.
- Sora 2 video generation: Available today for Copilot licensed users in the Frontier program. This adds physics-aware video rendering and synchronized audio, a major leap from static image generation. Admins can control availability via a dedicated toggle in the Copilot Control System.
On the show, one additional improvement we test head-to-head with Google Gemini is voice access in Microsoft 365 Copilot. You’ll have to listen to the entire show to hear what happened.

SharePoint at 25
SharePoint hits its 25th anniversary and gets deeper Copilot integration. These updates are generally available starting at Ignite:
- Metadata reasoning: Copilot can now use structured metadata in document libraries to deliver precise answers. Before, Copilot treated SharePoint content as flat text, which often led to vague responses.
- Intranet page reasoning: Copilot can surface knowledge from SharePoint pages, unlocking institutional content that was previously hard to query.
- SharePoint Agents: Available in Copilot Chat and the Agent Store, with usage reporting in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. The SharePoint Admin Agent is in public preview, helping automate admin tasks.
