Microsoft has released Cumulative Update 5 for Exchange Server 2013.
From the Microsoft Exchange Team blog:
Cumulative Update 5 represents the continuation of our Exchange Server 2013 servicing and builds upon Exchange Server 2013 Service Pack 1. The release includes fixes for customer reported issues, minor product enhancements and previously released security bulletins. A complete list of customer reported issues resolved in Exchange Server 2013 Cumulative Update 5 can be found in Knowledge Base Article KB2936880. Customers running any previous release of Exchange Server 2013 can move directly to Cumulative Update 5 today. Customers deploying Exchange Server 2013 for the first time may skip previous releases and start their deployment with Cumulative Update 5 as well.
CU5 delivers improvements to OAB management for large/distributed environments, which Microsoft has detailed in a blog post here.
Important Note: Cumulative Update 5 includes a Managed Availability probe configuration that is frequently restarting the Microsoft Exchange Shared Cache Service in some environments. The service is being added to provide future performance improvements and is not used in Cumulative Update 5. More information is available in KB2971467.
Also includes is the fix for the “Some or all identity references could not be translated” error in Exchange 2013 SP1.
Cumulative Update 5 is available for download here.
For deployment steps refer to this guide to installing cumulative updates for Exchange Server 2013.

Intermittently OWA & ECP Blank Page or HTTP 500 Internal Server Error
We have migrated users from Exchange 2013 SP1 CU4 to Exchange 2013 SP1 CU5,
After moving the mailboxes, we are facing an intermittent OWA & ECP issue.. periodically users are getting Blank Page on Chrome or HTTP 500 Internal Server Error on IE.
1. Tried Resetting Client Cache/Cookies no use
2. Recycle of OWA AppPool – No use
3. Issue gets resolved once we reset the password of the user but issue repeats as well.
Checked the HTTP Proxy Log and found whenever the issue is occurring, the request is pointed to Old Database Guid, based on research found that this issue is resolved in CU5… but our Exchange is already on CU5
May be it will be resolved in CU6, but I am looking for workaround atleast.
Thanks

Aloha,
Maybe a stupid question, but does CU5 include SP1? Do I need to install SP1 first? From what I can see CU5 doesn’t say it requires SP1 installed first, but does say it contains fixes for SP1. Room spinning… head hurts… help please.
Thanks

Per the article: “Customers running any previous release of Exchange Server 2013 can move directly to Cumulative Update 5 today. Customers deploying Exchange Server 2013 for the first time may skip previous releases and start their deployment with Cumulative Update 5 as well.”
Each release is a full build of the product.

Firstly, your problem has nothing to do with this article. Secondly, call an IT support professional to help you as you are clearly in a serious situation with your server.
